Update on important matters at the Centre  - August 2011

Financial Claim

At the AGM on 13^th April 2011 we talked about the Financial claim against the Centre by Mr Claxton, the former Manager.

The Committee members would now like to take this opportunity to bring you up-to-date on developments although obviously cannot discuss details.

1.  After an exchange of Lawyers letters.  Mr Claxton has issued a claim in the County Court for a significant amount of money and costs.

2.  Your Committee is defending the claim vigorously with the help of the Centre’s solicitors.

3. Until the claim is determined the Centre will continue to develop, with your support, the many new opportunities coming forward for Community activities at the Centre. We thank you all for your continuing support.

We will continue to keep you up-to-date, but need to remind you all that the outcome could have a significant effect on the Centre’s finances.

Trustees and Committee Members

The Committee, in accordance with paragraph 8 of the Constitution, has filled two vacancies on the Committee and appointed Mr Nigel Clifford and Mr Mark Henshaw, both of Poynton, to the Committee.

The Committee regret to advise of the resignation from the Committee, for personal reasons, of Angela Oswald with immediate effect. The Committee regret the loss of Angela’s contribution and would like to take this opportunity to thank Angela for her contribution over the years and particularly in 2011.

2011 AGM – A date for your diary

Your Committee has set a provisional date for the next AGM of Wednesday November 16. Proper notices will be issued nearer the time.
